Our interest in Migraine has come from a place of experience. We offer a caring approach to preventing and managing migraine in a wholistic way, whatever the root cause of the migraines is in each individual. We can help walk the migraine journey to the end and wave goodbye to this debilitating condition.
One of the most frequent reasons people come to our clinic is for digestive complaints. Issues we see frequently range from bloating and gas, chronic constipation or diarrhoea, Irritable Bowel syndrome, Gastroesophageal Reflux disease and Inflammatory Bowel diseases.
Hippocrates once claimed, ‘All disease begins in the gut’. Research is now supporting this claim as we now know that gastrointestinal function contributes to many other aspects of overall health, including mental health.
I spend time speaking with all my patients about caring for their unique gastrointestinal bugs or ‘microbiome’. The research in this area is clear: Eat plenty of plant foods (especially brighty coloured ones), drink plenty of filtered water, get daily exercise and de-stress time, adequate sleep, and give the gut a long night fast. Its all very easy to say, but if you are finding doing these things difficult, or have worrisome symptoms or a diagnosis, why not visit us to get appropriate gut testing and treatment to help you feel better from the inside out.
Women’s health is a vital part of what we do. Whether you are suffering PMS, mood changes, perimenopausal issues, acne or period pain, it may be time to get to the bottom of what is causing your symptoms. Our complementary care model ensures that women are listened to and provided with extra complementary health care options.
Over the past 20 years, we have helped many women to address the underlying causes of imbalance, correct the issues and produce long lasting healthy and sustainable change.
You won’t find any dubious allergy tests at our practice! We are Allergy aware and have walked the road of dealing with serious allergy and anaphylaxis as a family for 10 years. We will always encourage medical allergy testing, work with the results, provide dietary advice and support and resources for this condition. We understand food intolerance and will implement dietary elimination and rechallenge to determine intolerances, along with support and advice through this challenging process.
Allergy and food intolerance are extremely frustrating conditions, but with education and support, we offer a caring environment to talk the practicalities of daily living with allergy. In addition to this we go deeper and ask bigger questions. How will we reduce the potential for further allergies developing, what is our best hope for recovery, and what can we do to support the gut health to provide your best chance for a healthy life?
Some of my best moments in private practice have been in helping families feel better. I love helping mums and dads figure out how to keep their kids from going down with every cold that goes around and fighting them off without the need for lots of days off work/school and the associated inconveniences. We offer information on keeping well, using all the foundations: best diet, great sleep, fun exercise, fresh air, strong social connections. Then when the foundations are good, we use individualised naturopathic care strategies and sometimes prescribed herbs and or nutritional supplements to help fight off the colds, flu and gastro viral illnesses.
